If needed, you and device users with Developer options enabled can unlock the bootloader to flash new images. To unlock the bootloader and enable partitions to be reflashed, run the fastboot flashing unlock command on the device. After setting, the unlock mode persists across reboots. After setting, this mode persists across reboots and factory data resets.
When the fastboot flashing unlock command is sent, the device should prompt users to warn them that they might encounter problems with unofficial images. After the user acknowledges the warning, the device should perform a factory data reset to prevent unauthorized data access.
The bootloader should reset the device even if it can't reformat it properly. Only after a reset can the persistent flag be set so that the device can be reflashed. All RAM not already overwritten should be reset during the fastboot flashing unlock process. This measure prevents attacks that read leftover RAM contents from the previous boot. Similarly, unlocked devices should clear RAM at every boot unless this creates an unacceptable delay , but should leave the region used for the kernel's ramoops.
To lock the bootloader and reset the device, run the fastboot flashing lock command on the device. The ro. If the device supports flashing unlock, then the bootloader should indicate the lock status by setting the kernel command line variable androidboot. This variable must be set in bootconfig instead of in the kernel command line in Android For devices that support dm-verity , use ro. Devices should support the locking and unlocking of critical sections, which are defined as whatever is needed to boot the device into the bootloader.
Such sections might include fuses, virtual partitions for a sensor hub, first-stage bootloader, and more.
To lock critical sections, you must use a mechanism that prevents code kernel, recovery image, OTA code, etc. Just keep it unlocked For your previous post the pictures you put your phone in fastboot mode instead of flashmode.
My life is ruined now lol. Also, I was reading the guide for rooting and it says i need and older version of the firmware i currently have instaled via OTA; Yeah but isn't it necessary to install custom roms? I just went full retard and did it without backing up my TA partition, though I've never had to do it on my previous cellphones didn't think that it would be an issue. But, after doing it, I haven't noticed any change on my system or apps, Track ID seems to be working okay, also X-R is still activated on my device, which other thing is supposed to stop working?
Never go full retard!!! Is there a possibility that my DRM's or function would not be lost after the unlocked bootloader? Read those threads, if you don't have pictures from "before" how do you test? Various noob questions Hello! I've a new Xperia E1 Dual I've successfully rooted it, thanks to the information I've found on this forum. I would like to have the same on the E1 but I can't find nothing to make this work.
What should I do? Many thanks in advance for your help! You can get into recovery by tapping the walkman button during Sony logo We are currently stuck on 4. It frees your time enchancing the ROM, or If you are completely new to Android, It avoids you to give a few headache If you are unsure what to do, check my guide, It is mostly noob-friendly Thank you for your answer.
I'm a bit confused because I am not able to install TWRP because it says that my phone is unsupported. But I would have liked to make a backup of all the files with the device cold before tweaking I should have done it long before What do you think?
Unfortunately I don't have a locked BL, so I can't really tell you how to make the recovery work, though there are many threads about how to boot into PhilZ under locked BL xezrunner If you do however manage to flash PhilZ, you can backup your entire system along with apps, data, and etc..
I suggest backing up TA, If you ever need to relock the BL back again to make use of the warranty Here's the appropiate thread on how to install recovery on a locked bootloader. Thank you very much but I've already used that and installed a recovery. You are late by a couple of hours. I was able to do a backup of my present configuration and even make a "custom ROM" with the actual phone. So I'm very pleased! I looked into the service menu and saw that my boot loader is not locked and that I've no DRM installed maybe that's because my phone is a plain Sony one?
Now, I've just to use the thread about changing the behavior of the Walkman button in order to disable it Thank to all who responded and provided help! I'm an IT guy but far from an Android guy! And I would not have done this without you! Edit : An additional question : Now, I still have a locked bootloader because I did not unlock it and a recovery installed PhilZ.
TWRP is in a different image file recovery. So, we have a common understanding we can transform a C device into a G one by flashing global Rom and re-lock the Bootloader? Im going to try that in 2 weeks, edl rescue remains an option if i fail, right? Karpfenhai said:. Mrboombastixx Members. Feb 14, Last edited: Apr 5, Sneakyhipo Members.

I'll hold off when my Mi 11 Ultra arrives! Does someone know for sure it's working? Eu stable would be another option but I don't feel good passing it on with custom FW..
Internet says don't relock Chinese device if using global.. Damned, please assist.. About two weeks ago I bricked my device. I tried to flash EU rom on Global device. I had Eventually my phone went black and couldn't do anything to turn it on. I needed to use EDL with a Xiaomi authorized person and my phone worked again. Right now I have Global I don't want to do anything sketchy again on my phone because it bricked in the first place.
Still no clue why it bricked in the first place. I followed every step like normal but of course I bricked my phone. If I see anything about relocking the phone, people say "u need the rom that was installed on the phone, otherwise you will brick it". Does this mean u need the exact ROM that was installed when I got my phone? Or does this just mean that I can use any global ROM. Right now I just want to relock my bootloader so I know everything works fine. Does someone know if I can just relock the bootloader with this If you guys don't know the answer, thats fine, but please don't answer this question.
